40 Years of Memories

Memory

Josie Taylor Ring (May 31, 2010–June 29, 2010) was never able to go home with her family because of she had the most severe form of spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Her mother is Kara Ring who works at HSC Children’s Hospital as a registered nurse. She, her husband, and older sister were able to be with Josie on her last night of life because of RMHC Manitoba.

Memory

Visiting the Ronald McDonald Family Room located inside of HSC Children's Hospital for the first time will always be unforgettable to me. The cozy look and feel, welcoming staff and volunteers, along with the smell of baked goods and fresh coffee—it definitely feels like a home, right inside of the hospital!

Memory

I have not been working with RMHC Manitoba for long, but I have already seen what a difference it can make. Seeing families and children ready to head home after long hospital stays or illness is one of the most uplifting and joyous things I have ever been a part of. My favorite part of The House is that it is truly a place of joy, strength, and resilience thanks to our amazing families, volunteers, and staff.

It has been a privilege to get to help support the families we serve and an honour to get to watch their children grow and explore at the house.

Memory

I am in year ten with RMHC Manitoba, and without a doubt, this has been the most fulfilling and rewarding position of my professional career. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead an incredible team of staff and volunteers as well as work with dedicated Board members and a generous community of donors and partners.

My north star has always been the beautiful families we have the honour and privilege to serve. It truly is all about the families.

As a member of RMHC Manitoba's development team, I am continually inspired by the outpouring of support from our community and corporate partners. They bring so much comfort and respite for families here, and I am grateful to be able to work with them in support of our mission.

Memory

Every year, McHappy Day is such an incredible day of community support in support of RMHC families across Canada. As an RMHC Manitoba team member, it's wonderful to visit so many local restaurants on this day to connect with McDonald's partners, volunteers, and customers. Looking forward to this year's event on May 8th when all menu items will support RMHC families!
